Life is a walking shadow

Friends! It was the World Poetry day recently (March 21st). I really wanted to pen a poem on this occasion but I could not write a single meaningful verse. Today, I want to share with you a very old and small poem of mine that I wrote long back in 1988, and surprisingly it was penned on March 21. Little did I know then  that it was composed on World Poetry day. So here it goes...

Life is a walking shadow,
Yet it is a pretty rainbow;
Having some beautiful colours bright,
One must see this lovely sight.All colours are full of happiness,
Yet some have sorrows' bitterness;
But this sweet sour taste of life,
Makes its beauty more nice.
Very gracious as it seems,
Having so many lovely dreams;
We must see them very keen,
And should know the mysterious theme.

P.S. : I got inspired by this line taken from Macbeth,  a famous play written by William Shakespeare. Hence ,comes the title for my poem "Life is a walking shadow"
